1st Blog Giveaway: Here Comes the Veil

Some weeks ago, I wrote about my Fabrigodmother, Roy Anne. Well, guess what?! The Fabrigodmother is so kind and generous that she's making customized wedding veils for 5 lucky Cinderellas! So yes, this is my first blog giveaway, courtesy of the fabulous godmother. 

I still can't let go of weddings, so imagine my excitement when Roy Anne asked me to collaborate with her. Just a brief background about wedding veils. Historically, a veil was used by the bride to protect her from evil spirits, but now, it is the cherry on top! There are different kinds of wedding veils, usually vary in lengths. I opted for a very short wedding veil on my wedding for two reasons- to go with the theme and to avoid tripping (because I'm clumsy!). :)

My Valentine Story

When I was in third year college, my RLE was scheduled (RLE is like an on-the-job training for nursing students) Thursday to Saturday at 12 noon up to 6 in the evening. It so happened that Valentine's Day fell on a Saturday that year. So while everyone was busy in their Valentine itineraries, I was just about to start my day--in the hospital. To cut the story short, I went home in our dormitory, dragging my whole body as I was so tired. The whole third floor (where I stayed) was very quiet and dark. My dorm mates were all out, plus,  the fluorescent light in our room broke, making our room dimmer. With nothing to do, I went out into the veranda, only to observe lovers all over my vision field. I couldn't hide it. I felt a pang of envy! And so I let out a deep sigh and subconsciously prayed (and hope!) that something special would happen that evening (told ya I'm a hopeless romantic). I returned to my room, fell on the bed and slumbered. Way passed 12 midnight, I woke up from a phone message. Who would send a message this late (or that early)? It read, Hey, I got your number from a classmate.-Bryan. I couldn't believe my eyes! I am aware of phone etiquette, so I planned to go back to sleep and reply late in the morning. Plus, I only had 1 peso load (boo!). Unlitxt, Sulitxt, Talk n Text, Megatxt, Supermegaunlitxt or any form of those things were still bound to be discovered. I struggled to go back to sleep but I couldn't and so I gave it a try and replied. Guess what, I was able to send more than 5 messages before I received a check operator services message. And that was the start of a lifelong love and friendship. Oh, and I was able to go back to sleep so soundly! hahaha..Looking back, I am thankful that I chose to invite Bryan on Friendster (Friendster was The Facebook then), because if not, maybe our paths will never cross. No one will know, actually. But after 8 years, here we are now! I am blessed! We both are. Happy Valentine's Day, my love! :)

Get that look: Leighton Meester

Navy blue, white, red and stripes remind me of Popeye and Olive! Who could be more nautical than the sailor man and his skinny, long-legged sweetheart? 

Apparently, I let out a loud hooray when I saw this photo of Leighton Meester. I have something like this in my closet! :)

This dress was from Mint. It was an impulsive buy, and again, I haven't worn it ever since.  I was in a brief state of nostalgia as I remembered my Day Care uniform. Mint had a red version of this, but I chose the navy blue. 

Hihihi..The one in uniform is my Ate (older sister). I'm the little "boy".hahaha..If I remember it right, my mom had this uniform adjusted when it was my turn to attend Day Care.

I miss blogging! It's been more than a week. Whew! I'll tell you why. For the past 2 weeks, annoying skin allergies erupted all over my body. Except the face, thank God! I was itching all over, I looked like a red Dalmatian. My skin's healing now, although dark marks stayed, but they will be gone soon! They have to! Anyway, I was with my whole family today (just in case you don't know, my family lives in Pampanga and I stay in the Metro). My older sister will be leaving the country next week, so we went out to treat her, and my mom, dad and younger sister tagged along. Here's what I wore...

I had a general cleaning the other day, and saw this leopard-print maxi dress. I haven't worn it since it was purchased.

My Fabrigodmother

It all started with my obsession for pillbox and fascinator hats during my wedding preps. For more than 2 weeks, I searched and searched and saved photos of my pegs until Google led me to Fabrichild's online shop. My heart raced as I browsed the custom made hats and I mumbled to myself, "I found her!" (click here for the story). 

My bridesmaids looked regal! I couldn't stop smiling when I saw them all prepped up. Their hats were cherries on top!  Dealing with the owner of Fabrichild, Roy Anne was a breeze, so our business transactions did not stop with the hats. 

She made me several dresses too! Oh, some of them were borrowed. hihi..The Maya top (left most) and Naoemi dress (upper most right) were used during our post-nuptial pictorial, while the other 2 dresses were worn during the wedding of my cousin and my graduation last year. 

She also made me a costume for an event last year. This was a rush. She made it in 2 days. Besides all the dresses she did for me, I also love how she gives extra effort to her packages. We do everything online. All items were neatly placed in a box, attached with a special note, sometimes with a freebie! So yes, Roy Anne is my fairy godmother!! A fab one! :)
